Tugain Solution is a topical solution used to prevent hair loss caused by male pattern baldness. It is a vasodilator that works by relaxing blood vessels in the scalp to increase circulation and stimulate the hair follicles preventing further loss of hair. Prolonged use may also cause the growth of new hair. Your physician may prescribe it for other unlisted purposes, as well.Tugain Solution should be massaged into the scalp with your fingers once per day or as directed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. Do not stop the medication without consulting a doctor as discontinuing the treatment may cause the newly regrown hair to fall off.Patients using Tugain Solution may encounter unwanted side effects such as: Burning, stinging or redness at application site; Dry, scaling or flaking scalp; Headaches; Temporary hair loss; Erectile dysfunction; Decreased sex drive or performance; Decreased volume of ejaculation; Breast enlargement, tenderness, swelling or dischargeContact a doctor immediately should side effects persists or worsen. Tugain Solution should not be used by women or men below the age of 18.Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.Tugain Solution is not always suitable for all patients.
