Flucort Skin Cream

Flucort Skin Cream is a topical corticosteroid prescribed for inflammatory skin conditions like itching, redness, discomfort, crusting, dryness, and scaling. It contains Fluocinolone as the active ingredient.Flucort Skin Cream is an adrenocortical steroid which has anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and immune modulating properties. Fluocinolone is absorbed through the skin into the inflamed cells and blocks the prostaglandins and leukotrienes which cause inflammation. Fluocinolone also causes vasoconstriction which impedes the leaking of the cells.Squeeze the required amount and rub it gently into the skin of the affected area. Do not cover the skin after application unless dressing is prescribed. Apply as a thin film two to four times in a day.It should be used as an external medication only. Avoid contact with your eyes, mouth or any other mucosal surfaces. Do not over apply.Common side effects are skin irritation, dermatitis, thinning of the skin, and striae formation.
